Mr. Santiago Freitas

Santiago is Head of Technology for European Emerging Markets at AWS, based in the UAE. Since joining AWS in 2016, he has worked with several financial services customers such as HSBC to support their cloud adoption journey. Santiago has contributed to the development of AWS services such as AWS Outposts and AWS Relational Database Service, which are used by tens of thousands of customers globally. Before joining AWS, he was a Distinguished Engineer at Cisco where he worked for over 9 years and created multiple products and network protocols such as LISP and Segment Routing which are used globally. He is the inventor of 3 patents granted by the US patent office and has published a book, whitepapers and blogs on data center, cloud and system architectures.
